It all started when…

Savannah River Brewing Company opened its doors in early 2017, and is a 30 barrel craft brewery located in historic downtown Augusta, Georgia. We are a unique venue where customers can savor and enjoy the freshest, highest quality craft beers available anywhere, in the midst of our state-of-the-art brewhouse, while mingling and relaxing with friends, family, and fellow beer enthusiasts in our unique and expansive Taproom, Patio, and Beer Garden.

​We are a family business with many generations of our family history rooted in the great state of Georgia. When discussing the idea of opening a brewery several years back, we wanted to find a Georgia city or town with a relatively small, intimate downtown area, one where our efforts and investments to create a brewery would have a lasting positive impact on the city and local community. After looking at numerous options, we chose Augusta.

Augusta is Georgia's 2nd largest city and is home to friendly people, great pride, rich history, many generational family businesses, and a great lifestyle. Augusta is also home to world-renowned events, a major university, many major corporations, and Fort Gordon, home of the US Army's Cyber Center of Excellence. Yet Augusta's downtown area is small, intimate, and… Augusta had NO craft breweries!

So for us the choice was easy and obvious. This city is a great home for Savannah River Brewing, and an opportunity for more family members to put down roots. So we purchased an old, neglected warehouse (813 5th Street) and proceeded to transform it into a beautiful, state-of-the art brewery.
